The short version
Grid Artist collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting services and no network requests. Your photos, drawings and projects never leave your device.
What the app stores, and where
- Reference photos you import are copied into the app's private storage on your device, so your projects keep working if the original is moved or deleted from your photo library.
- Drawings you make on the canvas are saved in the same private storage.
- Project settings — grid size, styling, paper size, adjustments, notes and which squares you have finished — are stored in a local database on your device.
- Preferences such as your default grid style are stored in the app's own settings.
All of this lives inside the app's container. It is included in your device backups if you back up your device, and deleting the app deletes it.
Photo library access
When you import a photo, iOS shows you its own picker and only the items you select are handed to Grid Artist. The app never browses your library. If you choose to save an export back to your photo library, iOS asks for permission first.
Camera access
The camera is used only when you tap “Take Photo” to capture a reference. The image goes straight into your project. Nothing is streamed, uploaded or kept elsewhere.
The on-device intelligence features
Suggested grid size, crop-to-subject, line art, subject isolation and portrait proportion guides all run on your device using Apple's Vision and Core Image frameworks. No image or derived data is sent to any server, including ours — which is why these features work in airplane mode.
Data sharing
Nothing is shared, sold or transferred, because nothing is collected. When you use Export, Print or the share sheet, iOS hands the file to the destination you pick; that destination's own privacy policy then applies.
Children
Grid Artist is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Because the app collects no data, any change is likely to be clarification rather than a change in practice.
