FAQ

The camera preview is black or shows “Camera access denied”

macOS revoked the camera permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and make sure Mirror - Cam is enabled, then quit and relaunch the app from the menu bar’s “Quit Mirror - Cam” option.

Mic Check doesn’t move

Two things to check:

  1. Mic Check is turned on in Settings → Mic Check.
  2. The microphone permission is granted in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

I’m on a MacBook Pro / Air with a notch but Notch Trigger doesn’t fire

Notch Trigger works on built-in M-series MacBook displays with a notch. If you have an external monitor, the trigger area only exists on the notched display. Make sure the cursor is fully within the notch area when you click — about 200 px wide × 35 px tall, centred above the menu bar.

The V-sign auto-snap isn’t triggering

Auto-snap uses on-device hand-pose detection. Make sure:

How do I cancel my Monthly subscription?

Open the App Store app on your Mac → click your name (or photo) in the sidebar → click Account Settings → scroll to Subscriptions → manage Mirror - Cam Plus. Apple handles the cancellation; we don’t see your subscription state until your next launch.

I bought the Lifetime upgrade on another Mac — how do I unlock it here?

In Settings → click Get Mirror - Cam Plus to open the paywall → tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.

How do I uninstall?

Quit the app (right-click the menu-bar icon → Quit Mirror - Cam), then drag Mirror - Cam.app from /Applications to the Trash.
