Reflect · Private journaling with on-device AI
Reflections require iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled. Go to Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri and make sure Apple Intelligence is turned on. The on-device model may also need a few minutes to finish downloading after first enabling it.
Yes. Reflect works fully on iOS 18.1 and later. Writing, search, streak tracking, reminders, lock screen, and all appearance settings are available on every supported device. AI reflections, weekly digests, and monthly narratives simply won't appear on devices without Apple Intelligence.
There is no password recovery — this is intentional to protect your privacy. To regain access, delete and reinstall Reflect. This will erase all entries stored on the device. If you had iCloud backup enabled, your device backup may restore your data.
Reflect stores entries using Apple's SwiftData framework, which is included in your standard iCloud device backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled in Settings. Reflect does not have its own cloud sync.
Make sure Face ID is enabled for Reflect in Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Other Apps. You also need to set an app password in Reflect first — Face ID requires a password fallback. Then toggle Face ID on inside Reflect's Settings screen.
Check that notifications are allowed in Settings → Reflect → Notifications. Inside Reflect, go to Settings and make sure "Remind me to write" is toggled on and a time is set.
Open any entry, tap the share icon (↑) in the top-right corner. Reflect will generate a PDF you can save, print, or share.
Open an issue on GitHub — it's the fastest way to get a response.
