Privacy Policy
Minimal collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and Minimal has no servers. What the app needs, it keeps on your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
To work, Minimal keeps a few things in its own storage on your device. It is shared only with Minimal's own widgets and Screen Time extensions, and it is deleted when you delete the app.
- Your launcher — the apps you list, the names you give them, and how the widget looks.
- Your focus settings — schedules, the breathing delay, session lengths and your daily screen time goal.
- What you pause — the apps, categories and websites you choose in Apple's picker. Apple gives Minimal these as opaque tokens: Minimal can't see which apps they are.
- Daily counters — how many times you let a paused app go, opened one, which reason you picked, and whether you stopped when your time was up. Kept for 60 days to show your week.
- Your free trial start date — kept in the iPhone's Keychain so the 7-day trial can't restart on reinstall. It never leaves the device.
Screen Time
With your permission, Minimal uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity) to pause apps and to show Insights. The usage numbers in Insights are worked out inside Apple's sandboxed report extension, which by Apple's design cannot send data anywhere — not to the internet and not even back to the Minimal app. Your screen time never leaves your iPhone.
On-device intelligence
If you describe a focus goal in words, Minimal may use Apple's on-device language model to turn it into a plan. That text is processed on your iPhone and is not sent to us or anyone else.
Photos
Minimal asks for permission only to add one image to your photo library: a plain black or white wallpaper, when you tap to save it. It never reads, uploads or deletes your photos.
Purchases
Minimal Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details or Apple ID. The app only asks Apple whether Pro is active on your account. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to those transactions.
Update check
When you open Minimal, it checks whether a newer version is out: it reads Minimal's public App Store listing from Apple and a small public file on this site (version.json). These requests carry nothing about you or how you use your iPhone, and nothing is stored. Now and then Minimal may show Apple's standard rating prompt; Apple handles any rating you give.
Sharing and selling
We don't share or sell data, because we don't have any. Minimal includes no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Children
Minimal doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — it collects none at all.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
